Mike
(Put-Put) Putnam has been racing since 2004. Starting out racing a 1990 Pontiac
LeMans in the Pony Stock division, we won one feature race, two heat races and
three trophies; we were 7th in points for Calhoun County Speedway,
15th in points at Spartan Speedway and the 2004 “Sportsman of the
Year”. We have won payouts when many other racers had their cars on the
trailer. Our team has went to invitational races at Tri-City, Owosso, and
Columbus Ohio where we competed with bigger and faster competition and with the
exception of Columbus, placed within the top 10.
We started the 2005 season in the Short Track Truck
Challenge Series racing against a variety of veteran drivers. Most drivers have
been racing for 15 years or more in a variety of divisions. Finishing within
the top 10 in a majority of his races, Mike (Put-Put) Putnam finished 8th
in points and 3rd in Rookie Points in his 2004 Chevy Silverado.
From
2006 till 2010 raced a couple of seasons within the Sportsman division at
Springport Motor Speedway and took our time rebuilding the team.
This
past 2011 season we joined the well recognized Super Late Model division at SMS;
with the help of my son Gavin Putnam we took our Super to 3rd in
points and Rookie of the Year!
2012
is a promising year for this Rookie driver as he plans on finishing within the
top 5 of every race! With the help and support of our sponsors we are confident the Super
Late Model will be in the winners circle many times over.
Thank you,
Putnam
